Casey Decker is a reporter for VERIFY, specializing in breaking down complex politics and policy issues on TV, the web, and social media.

Now based in Portland, he spent the last three years as the political reporter for KREM in Spokane. There he led coverage of several local, state, and federal elections, kept viewers up to date on the state's ever-changing COVID restrictions, held the local health board accountable amidst a controversial decision to fire the region's top public health expert, and reported in depth on the area's housing crisis. He was also frequently in the field tackling breaking news ranging from record-breaking wildfires to historic protests.

Casey takes pride in cutting through jargon and talking points in order to help people understand how the decisions made by those in power could affect their daily lives. He's a naturally curious person who loves learning about anything and everything, and who doesn't shy away from nuance or nitty-gritty details.

Casey studied journalism at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and grew up just outside of Portland in Vancouver, Wash.

He’s a persevering Mariners fan, a master of bar trivia, loves movies and TV shows, and is critically addicted to Twitter and TikTok. Follow him and send him issues you want to tackle, or memes, @CaseyDeckerTV.
